Before the end of the active harvest, cucumbers should be watered approximately three times a week. At the same time, it is advisable to use eight to ten liters of water per square meter. From mid-August, it is better to do this once every seven to ten days with seven to eight liters per square meter. If cucumbers are growing in a greenhouse, they need to be watered more often but with less water.

Can You Water Cucumbers on the Leaves

Experienced gardeners allow watering cucumber bushes both at the root and on the leaves. However, this should be done when the sun is not active. The fact is that leaves can suffer from burns due to the sun. It is often advised to water cucumbers on the leaves before nine in the morning so that the moisture around the plants remains high during the day. At the same time, the soil around the root collar should be dry, otherwise, the root system will begin to rot. Watering can also be done in the evening when the sun is no longer so scorching but it is not yet cool outside.
