November 29: What not to do and which holidays are celebrated in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: November 29, 2025 – Saturday. The 1374th day of the war in Ukraine.
Tomorrow's Religious Holiday
Tomorrow, on November 29, believers celebrate the day of remembrance of the holy martyrs Paramon and Philumen. Paramon was martyred in 250 during the persecution of Christians in Byzantium (or, according to some sources, in Bithynia). Emperor Decius ordered the governor Aquila to suppress Christianity, which led to the execution of over 370 Christians who refused to make sacrifices to pagan gods.
As Paramon passed by the place of execution, he exclaimed:
“Oh, wicked idolater, why do you torment innocent people who believe in the true God?”For this, he was captured and subjected to brutal torture. He was tormented, and later his body was pierced with spears. Thus he died, becoming a witness of faith.
Philumen also lived in the 3rd century and was a Christian from Greece or Cilicia (sources vary). Under Emperor Decius, he was arrested for refusing to worship pagan idols. During torture, he proudly repeated that he would not deny Christ until he was beheaded.
