In Ukraine, a warm Christmas and New Year is expected: meteorologists' forecast.

According to ТСН: In Ukraine, the temperature is expected to drop during Christmas and New Year, but overall it will be warmer than usual in December.

The head of the applied meteorology and climatology department of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute, Vera Balabukh, noted that if the current forecasts come true, it will be 'quite warm' on Christmas. During the week from December 22 to 28, air temperature will remain above the norm.

“If the anomalies are currently about 2-4 degrees above the norm, they decrease but remain 1-2 degrees above the norm,” the meteorologist said.

Forecasts for the New Year

Regarding the New Year, Balabukh reported that the temperature will remain 'practically the same.'

“The two decades are very warm. We see that practically November has lasted for two consecutive months. Even in November, the temperature was already closer, similar to October, rather than November. Meanwhile, in October it was lower. It seems that October and November have swapped places,” the meteorologist noted.

Winter forecasts

Meteorologists from the Ukrainian Hydro-Meteorological Center reported that the average temperature during the winter months this year is expected to be 1.5-2°C higher than the norm. This trend is forecasted to be observed throughout most days of the winter season. However, periods where the temperature drops to -5 to -18 degrees Celsius cannot be ruled out.

Thus, Ukrainians can expect an unusually warm winter. This may affect not only the usual rhythm of life but also agriculture and the environment. It is worth being prepared for possible temperature fluctuations that may cause various weather phenomena throughout the winter season.
