Japan wants to produce new energy: 2 GW and $100 million in production.
Japanese company Toyo Solar plans to build a solar panel manufacturing plant with a capacity of 2 GW in the USA.
Toyo Solar plans to invest 100 million dollars in building a plant in the USA. The enterprise possesses advanced technology for the production of solar panels.
First of all, the plant will be focused on the production of solar modules, but it is also planned to manufacture wafers and elements in the future.
Solar modules are sets of solar cells that differ from typical solar batteries in their higher power and greater efficiency. Toyo Solar's technology allows for more energy to be obtained from sunlight compared to older models.
In particular, this effect is achieved by using silicon as a semiconductor material, as well as a rear cell with a passivated emitter (PERC) and bifacial cells to enhance efficiency.
The new generation of Toyo Solar modules has almost doubled the amount of solar energy they can convert into electricity.
It is important to note that the US government stimulates companies working in the field of solar energy. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides financial incentives to such enterprises that contribute to the country’s transition to clean energy.
