Crystal Palace received backlash: why the Premier League schedule caused a scandal.
Irresponsible situation for Crystal Palace
According to The Sun: Oliver Glasner believes that playing four matches in eight days will be "irresponsible" for Crystal Palace. Arsenal intends to hold their quarter-final match of the Carabao Cup against Palace on December 16.
Glasner's team will host Manchester City two days before this, and on December 18, they will play against KuPS in the Conference League. Then, three days later, Crystal Palace will travel to Leeds for their next match.
"Playing four matches in eight days is irresponsible,"
said the Austrian coach, highlighting the difficulties the team may face in such a crowded schedule.
Glasner's statement reflects the concerns of coaches about the physical load on players, especially under a tight schedule. In matches at this level, it is important not only to achieve victories but also to maintain the health of the footballers, as this can affect the team's performance in the season ahead.
