Uncomfortable moment at the VMA: Ariana Grande on her tiptoes

According to The Sun: At the recent VMA ceremony, Ariana Grande accepted the award while standing on her tiptoes.

At the end of the MTV Video Music Awards 2025, 32-year-old Ariana Grande received her third award but was surprised as she could not reach the microphone.

The singer barely reached the microphone when she accepted the award for Video of the Year for 'Brighter Days Ahead'.

While accepting the luxurious award, she joked:

“Is this going to be higher every time?”

She then asked:

“Is this intentional?”

As several sources report, Ariana, who was in high heels and a fluffy dress, is only 5'3' (about 1.6 meters) tall.

Fans quickly noticed this awkward situation, and many of them criticized the producers. One user wrote:

“Couldn’t they just lower the microphone for Ariana Grande? She is standing on her tiptoes in high heels!”

Another commented:

“MTV needs to improve the microphone arrangements. They know who the VMA winners are, so adjust accordingly.”

A third remarked:

“The one who set the microphone for Video of the Year was somehow mean because the winners in this category were, in my opinion, Ariana and Sabrina, both very short.”

A fourth added:

“It’s really funny that the microphone was not lowered for Ariana.”

A fifth person remarked:

“I can’t believe they couldn’t adjust the microphone for Ariana.”

Criticism of the VMA 2025

Many fans also expressed that this was one of the worst VMA ceremonies in history. One social media user wrote:

“I have seen many horrible VMAs, but this was the worst.”

Another stated:

“Oh God, this VMA is the worst in history.”

A third noted:

“This is one of the worst VMAs of all time. 100% terrible.”

A fourth added:

“It’s so sad how much the VMA have declined.”

In 2025, the MTV Video Music Awards underwent significant changes: for the first time, they were broadcast not only on MTV but also on CBS.

Changes to the show format were introduced to comply with the new rules that CBS has to follow compared to MTV.

These innovations were controversial among viewers as many believe that the new format cannot handle the traditions and atmosphere that have always been associated with this prestigious ceremony.
