Nicole noticed the first symptoms when she felt severe pain in her left breast, and during a self-exam, she found a lump.

Treatment and Action Plan

In early October 2024, she reported on a podcast that she underwent a single mastectomy. Initially, Nicole wanted to have a double mastectomy, but the doctor advised her to just have the 'single' to return to treatment more quickly.

Now, at 53, the actress shared on social media that she underwent another mastectomy and reconstruction. Nicole posted a selfie in a black sports top after the surgery, noting that she had surgery for a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday.

“How was your weekend?” she asked, along with tags for breast cancer and breast cancer awareness.

Nicole also mentioned that she noticed symptoms after gaining 25 pounds in three months. She shared: “It was really pulsating and painful. I immediately reached out to my doctor, and she said I urgently needed to get checked.”

Challenging Experiences

However, Nicole faced difficulties in getting an appointment with the doctor and had to wait until the end of November before she could undergo a mammogram and three biopsies.

“This journey has been tough for me,” Nicole noted. “It hasn’t been an easy path in life.”

In an interview, Nicole mentioned that she fears not being there for her children – Keegan (12) and Dillin (25). She emphasized: “[Dillin] is an adult, but I have a 12-year-old for whom I am the sole guardian. I have no family. I have to go through all of this.”
