Ash and Jack became known thanks to the show The X Factor, but their real popularity came from their social media activity.

This summer, Ash took on the role of a permanent panelist on Love Island: Aftersun, and their last appearance on Radio 1 was in 2023 during the Takeover For You Page.

“We are incredibly excited to return to BBC Radio 1 and bring your mornings to life this October – get ready for the energy and chaos we bring!”

Scottish radio host Beth Wallace will also make her debut in her first major national role.

Olympian Lina Nielsen will host Life Hacks in October.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to join Radio 1 and the Life Hacks team. I have always enjoyed chatting with them live. Now I can't wait to co-host in October.”

The new hosts will replace the previous ones: Yinku Bokini, Denny Mallo, and Rosie Madison.

These changes will take place in the next two months.

BBC Radio 1 continues to move towards a younger audience, bringing in new hosts from popular shows and social media. This will not only refresh the programming but also capture the attention of listeners accustomed to modern media trends. The changes will contribute to fresh ideas in the programs that have gained popularity among young people.
