Blue returns with a new album after 25 years: release details and tour.
New album by Blue
According to The Sun: After 25 years on the music scene and countless hits, the band Blue has presented their new album titled Reflections.
During the discussion of their seventh studio album, the band members reminisce about the brightest moments of their career. One such moment is a memory from Duncan James.
GettyDuncan recalls how during a flight from Los Angeles to London, he drank vodka with Mariah Carey:
“I was sitting in first class, and Mariah was across from me. During the flight, her assistant came over and said: ‘Mariah would like to have a drink with you at the bar’. I was in shock, and after a few shots of vodka with her, I realized: ‘I’ve truly made it’. That was the best moment of my career.”
Collaboration with legends
The band Blue, which also includes Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, and Simon Webbe, has collaborated with Elton John on the song Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word and recorded a cover of Signed, Sealed, Delivered along with Stevie Wonder.
Simon adds:
“Once I was signing unemployment papers, and then I received recognition from legends like Elton John.”
Duncan shares his impressions of visiting Elton John's house:
“We went into his wardrobe and saw his glasses — I was thrilled.”
The new album Reflections, which will be released on January 9, will feature the single One Last Time, which is already available. This song showcases a more mature side of the band, influenced by groups such as The Killers and Kings of Leon.
Emotional song One Last Time
Duncan worked on One Last Time, dedicating it to the memory of his best friend Terry John, who passed away last year. He poured his soul into this song, infused with deep emotions.
Duncan explains:
“I was driving home and thinking about Terry. And a melody came into my head, which I jotted down and sent to our producer.”
In his opinion, this song became a true love letter to Terry, and he is glad that the guys appreciated it.
“We are all now at an age where we have lost someone close. We can feel the lyrics of this song because they are so powerful.”
International tours and popularity
Along with the release of Reflections, Blue is touring the world with concerts — a tour in Asia is planned for November and a series of shows in the UK starting on April 6 in Oxford. They plan to perform 17 shows across the country and then head to Europe.
Given the fan response in Budapest last week, it is safe to say that their popularity is on the rise.
Duncan shares his impressions:
“We didn't know what to expect, but it was absolutely crazy.”
Simon emphasizes:
“We never take this for granted. We are four ordinary guys from different corners of the UK, and somehow we created this band.”
Celebrating 25 years of their career, the band has lost none of its energy and creativity. So let their creativity continue to inspire and delight listeners!
