Britain at the OSCE: Peace in Ukraine must be based on the UN Charter.
The United Kingdom reaffirms its support for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and calls for a sustainable peace in accordance with UN principles. This was stated by the UK's representative to the OSCE, Neil Holland.
For 1000 days, a war has been ongoing that was entirely unnecessary, and Russia can stop this conflict. The United Kingdom, along with other international partners, supports the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and is working towards achieving a just and sustainable peace that aligns with UN principles and the Helsinki Final Act.
The West notes that since the beginning of Russian aggression, the citizens of Ukraine, especially Crimean Tatars, have been persecuted in the occupied territory of Crimea. Furthermore, Russia is conducting a campaign to destroy Ukrainian culture and identity. Russian shelling and terrorist acts have led to the deaths of thousands of civilians and a mass evacuation of the population.
The UK representative noted that Russian attacks on targeted facilities, the use of torture, forced deportations, and the weaponization of energy resources reflect violent methods and demonstrate a disregard for human life.
Russia is also seeking support from other countries, such as Iran and North Korea, to sustain its military machine and continue the suffering of the Ukrainian people. The deployment of North Korean troops in Russia poses a threat to European security and increases tensions in the Indo-Pacific region.
