Remembering a Hero

Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians commemorate all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Dmytro Fedorin.

In the war, Ukrainian soldier from Lysychansk in Luhansk Oblast, Dmytro Fedorin, who had been defending Ukraine since August 19, 2024, fell on October 7, 2024. This was announced by the head of Luhansk Oblast administration, Artem Lysogor, on Facebook.

Dmytro Fedorin was born on February 5, 1981, in Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast. He graduated from local School No. 8 and then enrolled in the Lysychansk Vocational Cooking Institute, where he trained to be a chef.

Before the start of the Russian war, Dmytro Fedorin worked in a mine. Together with his wife Tetiana Volodymyrivna, he raised five children. The safety of the children was Dmytro's top priority, so they moved the family to Poltava in December 2022.

They were displaced in Dikanka for several months and found accommodation in Deikalyvka on December 23, 2022. There, Dmytro found work at a local sawmill.

'Good, sincere, cheerful, full of life. He was a pillar for me and our family. He loved cooking various treats for us,' the deceased's wife said.

On August 19, 2024, Dmytro Fedorin joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And on October 7, he died while defending the peaceful future of Ukrainians.

Dmytro left behind his father, who remained in Lysychansk in the occupied territory, his wife, five children, and his sister.

'Supreme Command' joins in the minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who have given their lives in the struggle for the fatherland. We commemorate those who have died at the hands of the Russian occupiers, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national minute of silence to honor the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who have laid down their lives for the freedom and independence of the country: all soldiers, civilians, and children, all those who have perished in the fight against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the attacks of enemy forces on Ukrainian cities and villages.
