According to analysts from the EastFruit project, the cucumber sales season from local greenhouses is ending in Ukraine.
Experts note a daily increase in prices for this product from local farmers.
Currently, greenhouse cucumbers are offered by producers at prices ranging from 90 to 115 UAH/kg ($2.18-2.79/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the batch. This is on average 13% higher than last week.
Experts explain the latest price hike by a significant reduction in the supply of cucumbers from local farms. Most greenhouse complexes have already announced the actual completion of the sales season, and the remaining farms offer the product only in small batches.
On Ukraine's domestic market, the demand for cucumbers remains high, leading to a rapid increase in prices.
