Interruptions during the performance
On Saturday, frontman Chris Martin, 48, emphasized the importance of audience safety by stopping the performance during the hit Sparks.
According to MirrorOnline, he pointed to the standing area in the famous arena, calling for a pause.
Security and medical teams began to act when he asked:
“Is there anyone else with medical issues? Diabetes? Is there something we need to know?”
However, after the song ended, the situation worsened again.
Witnesses reported that Chris jokingly commented on the incident, pointing out the need for assistance, and reassured that everything would be fine.
He addressed the London audience:
“Oh dear, we are making people faint. This is your fault, Guy [Berretman, the band's bassist], as you are so handsome.”
Adding:
“Everyone is fainting looking at our bassist.”
Next, he addressed the fans:
“I hope you feel better, bro. He'll take good care of you. Alright? You will be safe, just stay backstage, and we will keep an eye on you.”
Chris also said:
“Thank you, thank you all for caring about one another. That's wonderful.”
More ticket issues
The performance began with the song Higher Power, and the 23-song set included all of the popular tracks, including A Sky Full Of Stars, where the band again launched the melody, asking the audience to gather their phones.
After Sparks Coldplay performed five more tracks, concluding the concert with the song All My Love.
The sold-out concert was part of their 10-day tour at the football stadium, but the tour itself was overshadowed by ticket issues.
Earlier this week, fans were outraged when
“the last two concerts of their current tour at Wembley Stadium were postponed due to strikes on the London Underground.”
The band quickly apologized to the disappointed fans trying to sell tickets for the postponed performances.
They explained that the only option to avoid cancellation was to reschedule the concerts planned for September 7 and 8.
The concert on September 7 will now take place on September 6, and September 8 – on September 12.
Coldplay fans expressed outrage over the delays in announcements, left with expensive and now invalid tickets, flight tickets, and hotel bookings.
Despite the band's apologies, disappointed visitors deemed it “not quite acceptable.”
Hundreds of people took to social media to express their dissatisfaction, leaving angry comments about the unexpected announcement.
One commentator said:
“Train tickets on Monday £300, new tickets for Friday £610, what a night of searching.”
