Recent studies reveal the situation at home

According to The Sun: In Ukraine, 25% of adults are ready to 'rip the filling' out of cushions and even try to 'squeeze' their partner over soft furniture, according to survey results.

According to data, some households have more than 40 cushions, while a third of respondents admit to hating them so much that they hide them away. About 80% of respondents try to fix the cushions if others shift them.

More than half of the 2000 surveyed maintain the 'cushion chop' trend — a technique that focuses on the center of the cushion, as opposed to the traditional flat method, to achieve the best look, according to Homesense research.

“It's funny how something so simple as cushions can spark discussion,” said Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.
“Whether it's their number on the bed, where they should be, or even if they should be 'chopped' – we've all had those little home debates,” she added.

The report's authors emphasized: “The real debate about cushions is a national home dilemma.”

“Whether you are a maximalist with over 40 cushions or a minimalist who thinks even one cushion is too much, one thing is clear — we are a nation overwhelmed by soft furnishings.”

Additional survey findings

Researchers also found that more than half of adults pounce on the dishwasher when a partner or neighbor finishes loading it. About two-thirds hang clothes on drying racks if they don't meet their standards.

GettyThe marked survey results highlight how small matters like cushions can provoke disputes and discussions within families. It shows that even in a home environment, there is space for conflict over everyday ordinary things.
