According to The Sun: Dani Alves became a father for the first time, congratulating his wife, model Joana Sanz, on the birth of their child after the cancellation of his rape conviction.

The couple has not made any official statements about their news, but they returned home to Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona.

Dani Alves and Joana Sanz became parents to a girl. Joana shared about her pregnancy in a touching video.

Joana, who recently shared a photo of the nursery prepared for the baby, hinted at the birth of the child by posting a picture of a bouquet of flowers.

Alves, 42, has two teenagers from a previous marriage, but has not updated his social media since the birth was made public by the Vanitatis website.

The name of the newborn girl has not yet been disclosed, although it is believed to start with the letter 'J'. This is the couple's first child.

Joana shared the news of her pregnancy with her 912,000 followers on Instagram at the end of March.

This was one of her first posts after Alves learned about the cancellation of his conviction and four-year prison sentence for raping a woman in the VIP toilet of the Sutton club in Barcelona in December 2022.

The conviction was overturned based on an appeal.

Joana, who underwent IVF and experienced three miscarriages, shared her feelings in a touching video, holding back tears.

“I didn’t want to say anything until it was obvious, but I wanted to share for those who are struggling themselves,” she noted.
“I lost my mother two years ago, I have no parents or siblings, the feelings of orphanhood and emptiness accompanied me until the moment I first heard my baby’s heartbeat.”
“My last frozen embryo, my last hope, to have a reason to be strong in life. Here she is, healthy and growing.”

Joana also emphasized that “I know that it's my mom who sent her to me so that I wouldn’t feel alone.”

Six weeks ago, Joana informed on Instagram that she was preparing for the arrival of their daughter: “The nursery is almost ready. I’m leaving a few gifts that I received here.”

“By the way, we already have a name for the baby. There are hints in the photos.”

Joana and Alves, who spent 14 months in pre-trial detention before his trial in February 2024, were married in 2017 in Ibiza.

Alves, who played for Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain, was arrested in January 2023 when he landed in Spain from Mexico, where he was playing for a club, to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral.

Joana gave him a second chance, despite admitting that she was seeking a divorce after his arrest.

Four judges of the Catalan Supreme Court stated in a 101-page document released on March 28 that “it cannot be concluded that the standards necessary for the presumption of innocence were met.”

They also characterized the woman's testimony as “unreliable,” based on video evidence and part of her own testimony.

The woman has already confirmed that she will make a final appeal to the Supreme Court of Spain after previous attempts by her lawyer to seek a 12-year prison sentence for Alves.

State prosecutors sought a nine-year prison sentence based on the court's decision and are also appealing.

Alves, who claims he had consensual sex with the woman, remained aloof after the verdict was overturned and focused on business development.

In April 2024, after appealing the sentence and being released on bail, he founded a company in Barcelona specializing in rights management and athlete representation.

The birth of the child and the cancellation of Alves’s conviction have been major topics in Spanish show business in recent weeks. These events have attracted significant attention from both fans of the couple and the public following the case's developments. As for the next legal steps, it is currently unknown, but the attention to Alves and Joana's personal life will undoubtedly remain on the front pages of the news.
