Recovering After Surgery
In an interview with Good Housekeeping UK, Davina spoke about the new challenges that await her after head surgery, where a benign cyst was removed.
Dressed in a light green outfit while cooking, Davina shared her thoughts:
“I have always undervalued my self-esteem, even telling myself that I'm not smart. I failed the Maths exam at a time when I was using a lot of drugs and was very unhappy.
“But after all this, I took memory tests and in every case, I got good results. I shouldn't have needed something like this to understand that I am much smarter than I thought.”
“Now I don’t feel afraid of anything. I am even retaking my Maths exam next summer. If you have always dreamed of doing something and have the opportunity, just do it.”
Relationship Struggles
Davina, who quit alcohol and drugs at 25, has been in a relationship with hairstylist Michael Douglas since 2019.
After the surgery, Davina felt that he started treating her differently due to short-term memory problems. When she asked him about it, he replied:
“It’s because you’re being irritable now.”
Davina noted:
“I have never been so relieved when I was told that I am irritable. I knew it because I kept repeating the same questions. We both laughed about it.
Davina told Good Housekeeping UK that she is ready for everything after her head surgery in November.Davina McCall is returning to studying not only with the desire to improve her knowledge but also with the wish to overcome her own barriers and free herself from negative thoughts about herself. Her story is an example of how important it is to believe in one’s abilities and not be afraid of new challenges, even after difficult periods in life. This step will undoubtedly become a personal victory for her, as well as a professional one. Read also
