Where is cheaper: how the price of cucumbers and tomatoes differs in supermarkets and markets.
Prices for cucumbers and tomatoes in Ukraine vary slightly depending on the place of sale - supermarkets or markets. According to the portal Minfin and market statistics, we will tell you how much these vegetables cost at the moment.
Supermarkets
In supermarkets, one kilogram of cucumbers can be purchased for 62.50 UAH. There are also smooth cucumbers at a price of 86.30 UAH/kg, long-fruited for 84.99 UAH/kg, and thorny for 72.00 UAH/kg.
Tomato prices also vary depending on the type - from 72.96 UAH to 79.90 UAH per kilo. Especially expensive are pink tomatoes, the sale of which starts at 79.90 UAH/kg. A kilogram of cream tomatoes costs 57.05 UAH.
Capital market
In the capital market, cucumbers can be purchased at a price of 45 UAH/kg to 55 UAH/kg.
Prices for red tomatoes range from 60 UAH/kg to 70 UAH/kg. Pink tomatoes cost at least 75 UAH/kg and at most 85.00 UAH/kg. There are also Chumak tomatoes, the price of which ranges from 17.00 UAH/kg to 25.00 UAH/kg. The most expensive are yellow tomatoes, which cost from 85 UAH/kg to 100 UAH/kg.
Odesa market
In Odesa, prices for Ukrainian cucumbers range from 30 UAH to 50 UAH per kilo, sometimes reaching 80 UAH per kilo.
Prices for red tomatoes in the Odesa market start from 18 UAH per kilo. Cherry tomatoes can be bought from 30 UAH to 50 UAH per kilo, and the maximum price reaches 100 UAH per kilo. Yellow tomatoes cost from 45 to 90 UAH per kilo.
