The prophet Elijah is considered the patron of farmers and beekeepers. Folk traditions include baking bread, making dishes with honey, and decorating tables with gifts of summer. On Elijah's Day, the harvest celebration and weather forecasting are also observed. It is believed that order in the house and blessed water will help keep the household safe from misfortune. Swimming in water bodies is also not recommended on this day.
