On Tuesday, November 5, Americans participated in the US presidential election, which is generally considered one of the most challenging. This historic event caught the attention of the NYT newspaper.
According to election commissions, voter turnout was high, but no significant violations in the electoral system were detected. More than 80 million Americans have already voted - by mail or in person.
Donald Trump voted around noon in Florida and, answering journalists' questions, stated that he would accept the election results if the voting was fair. He also noted that this election campaign might be his last.
Kamala Harris, who voted early, stated in an interview with an Atlanta radio station that this moment is decisive since the country has two different options for the future.
According to polls, the voting results in seven key states are still unpredictable. If forecasts of a narrow margin in votes hold true, final results will be known only in a few days.
