Ukrainian deputies have registered bill No. 11455, which proposes to extend benefits for importing equipment for wind power plants into Ukraine. This bill will be added to new laws that provide benefits for importing energy equipment, excluding wind power plants.

According to the explanatory note of the bill's authors, its adoption and implementation will stimulate the active implementation of wind power solutions in Ukraine, as well as the restoration of damaged alternative energy infrastructure that was harmed as a result of terrorist attacks.

«The main goal of this bill is to stimulate the rapid restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure by providing customs benefits for importing the relevant equipment (goods)», the deputies emphasize.

According to the state institution's statement, the exemption of wind power plants from duties classified under code 8502 31 00 00 according to the УКТ ЗЕД, will lead to a reduction in their cost, making this equipment more accessible and promoting the expansion of wind energy.

In addition, the development of wind energy will reduce dependence on traditional energy sources, which become vulnerable to external attacks, and will help stabilize energy supply in Ukraine.

Earlier, on July 16, the parliament voted for bills No. 11258 and No. 11259, which provide for the abolition of duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment to Ukraine.

However, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association stated that the Rada did not provide tax incentives for the construction of new wind power plants in Ukraine. This may worsen the problem with power outages. According to investors, the lack of support for wind energy projects has negative consequences for reducing the capacity deficit in the energy system and shortening the blackout times in the future.
