Expert explains why the agreement between North Korea and Russia benefits China.
China benefits from the cooperation of North Korea and Russia - expert
International security expert Taras Zovtenko stated that the strengthening of cooperation between North Korea and Russia contributes to China's geopolitical strategy. In a television interview, he said that the agreement between these two countries allows them to protect themselves from potential sanctions or other actions by the international community that could limit their cooperation.
According to Zovtenko, this agreement does not contradict the principles of international law, and its existence is in China's interest. China understands that the development of cooperation between North Korea and Russia aligns with its geopolitical strategic interests. This allows China to develop cooperation without interference from the international community and not to provide any claims against China itself. Without this agreement, cooperation between North Korea and Russia would constitute a violation of international law.
Zovtenko emphasizes that this agreement is beneficial for China, as it legitimizes military cooperation between North Korea and Russia. It also protects China from potential claims by the international community regarding influence over the situation in the region.
