Expert points out the lie of officials about the conservation of the GTS and the increase in gas tariffs.
The energy expert is concerned about the increase in gas tariffs
Oleg Popenko, an energy expert, expressed serious concerns regarding the increase in gas transportation tariffs for domestic consumers. He noted the strange situation in Ukraine's gas transportation system, where most of the capacities are not utilized. Popenko drew attention to the statements of former GTS director Serhiy Makohon and current general director Dmytro Lypa about the conservation of compressor stations. He called for an investigation into the use of the company's funds if the information about the conservation of the facilities turns out to be false.
Compensation mechanisms of other countries
Popenko emphasized the importance of compensation mechanisms in other countries. An example was Germany, which allocated 300 billion euros for compensating the difference in tariffs, even Romania, which directed 5 billion euros for similar compensations. In Ukraine, the issue of compensation for businesses remains unresolved despite the rising transportation costs for gas.
Increase in gas transportation tariffs in Ukraine
According to the decision of the NKREKP, gas transportation tariffs in Ukraine will rise fourfold.
