Zelensky Awards the Title of Hero of Ukraine to the Fallen F-16 Pilot Mykola Ustimenko.
Ukrainian F-16 pilot Mykola Ustimenko, who died as a result of repelling a Russian air strike, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the relevant decree, emphasizing his bravery and selfless service to the Ukrainian people. Ustimenko shot down seven aerial targets, demonstrating high professionalism and readiness to defend his country to the last.
The president himself expressed condolences to the family and colleagues, highlighting the heroic actions of Ukrainian soldiers in wartime conditions. The reasons for the damage to the aircraft that led to the pilot's death have not yet been fully clarified, but it has already been established that it occurred during the repulsion of an attack by Russian troops.
