Deposit Guarantee Fund Pays UAH 18 Million to Customers of Closed Banks.
Payouts from the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund
According to Мінфін — Крипто/Фінанси: From January to June 2026, the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund disbursed UAH 18 million to clients of liquidated banks. Of that amount, over UAH 1.3 million was paid out in June 2026 alone. These payments come as the Fund has returned UAH 9.4 billion since the start of the full-scale invasion, with total payouts now reaching UAH 105.1 billion.
As of June 30, 2026, the Fund's reserves stood at UAH 54.4 billion, reflecting its solid financial health. To date, more than 2 million people have received funds from the Fund, representing 96.1% of all depositors — a figure that highlights the institution’s effectiveness in safeguarding depositor rights. It is worth noting that a full 100% deposit guarantee has been in effect since April 13, 2022, providing additional reassurance for customers of financial institutions.
Support for Clients of Liquidated Banks
The Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund continues to meet its obligations by assisting clients of liquidated banks and ensuring the return of their funds — a key component of the country’s financial system stability.
The Fund’s payouts demonstrate its ability to effectively respond to depositor needs, especially amid the economic uncertainty caused by the war. This support not only helps restore confidence in the financial system but also contributes to the broader economic recovery by providing financial relief to a large number of clients who lost their deposits. Furthermore, the 100% deposit guarantee offers added security for potential depositors, which could positively influence the overall stability of the banking sector.
