According to The Sun: Footballer Philippe Lanquetin has received a prison sentence for his involvement in a traffic accident that left one man confined to a wheelchair for life. Lanquetin, who plays as a central defender, is currently on loan at the Dutch club ADO Den Haag from the Portuguese team Estoril.
A French court has sentenced him to 12 months in prison and an additional two years probation.
“I cannot come to terms with what happened,” he said after the court's decision.
