According to The Sun: Former One Direction member, Louis Tomlinson, has become a victim of fraud in a financial scheme worth £4 million related to football.
The singer, who sought to raise the popularity of the Doncaster Rovers football team, naively fell into the trap of a criminal gang that stole millions from citizens' pension savings.

The criminal gang, which included Kevin Phelan, Daniel Giles, and Adrian Bashfort, received sentences last month. They now face prison time.
Involvement of Louis Tomlinson
Reports indicate that Louis had no suspicion of deception when he joined the gang in 2014 during the club's financial struggles. At the height of One Direction's popularity, he met with representatives of the gang at his home in Cheshire.
At that time, the club's former president, John Ryan, approached Louis to help increase support for Doncaster. It was expected that under the agreement, 70% of the club would transfer to Belize-based Sequentia Capital SA, and Louis and Ryan would become the club's public figures.

However, the effort yielded only £600,000, of which £500,000 came from one of the criminals. It turned out that the source of this money was linked to stolen pension funds, as reported in court.
During the court session, prosecutor Timothy Gannam stated:
“These defendants stole money from people's life savings.”Louis, expressing his disappointment that the deal with Doncaster had not gone through, said:
“I am very upset that the deal with Doncaster will not happen. I wish the club had received the recognition it deserves.”
The defendants are currently awaiting sentencing in January.
