Google Maps spread images of the placement of Ukrainian Armed Forces systems.
Google published new images showing the location of Ukrainian military systems
Google published updated satellite images showing the location of Ukrainian military systems. Later, the company promised to rectify this situation. This was reported in Telegram by the head of the Counter Disinformation Center (CDC) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.
“Imagine the situation. Google releases updated images on the maps that reveal the location of our military systems (I will not specify)”, he wrote.
According to Kovalenko, Ukraine contacted Google to rectify the situation, as enemy public platforms had already begun actively disseminating these images.
Later, the head of CDC stated that only after a public reaction did representatives of Google contact the Ukrainian side. The company reported that they are already working on resolving the situation with the images of our military systems' placement. There will also be discussions on how to address any issues promptly in the future.
Google, Meta, and TikTok closed accounts of a company from Tatarstan
Recently, Google, Meta, and TikTok closed social media accounts belonging to an industrial company from Tatarstan (Russia). This enterprise was involved in attracting young foreign women to work in the production of drones for the Russian army. This is stated in an investigation by the Associated Press.
Accounts on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok were deleted following the investigation published by the agency on October 10. The report detailed working conditions at a drone manufacturing plant in the Russian special economic zone “Alabuga”, which is under sanctions from the USA and the UK.
Recall that in Kharkiv, a head of a Russian company who assisted in launching spy satellites was detained.
