Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy raises funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces again – supported by the “Heroes Cup”.
The founder of the football club “Ruh” and the charitable foundation “Ruh to the Future,” Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, initiated the charity tournament “Heroes Cup” and an auction, which took place in Lviv in honor of Ukraine’s Defenders Day. The event was organized together with the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.
“For us, organizing the ‘Heroes Cup’ tournament was not only an opportunity to unite people through sports but also an important step in supporting our military. We raised 4 million hryvnias, which will go towards purchasing drones and rehabilitating the wounded. This shows that each of us can contribute to a common cause, and we must continue supporting our defenders,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, founder of FC “Ruh.”
Six teams participated in the tournament, including military personnel, police officers, and medics, as well as star footballers like Yuriy Pankiv, Valeriy Fedorchuk, Mykola Morozyuk, and others. The participants competed in a media football format, not only to showcase their sports skills but also to boost morale.
“FC ‘Ruh’ consistently contributes to supporting the military through charity tournaments and auctions. It’s important to us that the guys can compete, receive positive emotions, and help meet the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” noted Oleg Shpur, Executive Director of the “Ruh to the Future” Charitable Foundation.
After the group stage, where the teams were divided into two groups, the 6th Volyn and 3rd Luhansk Border Guard Detachments emerged as the best, competing in the final against the team from the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Lviv Region. The regular Time ended in a 2-2 draw, but in the penalty shootout, the border guards were more accurate.
The event also featured a weapons exhibition, and spectators enjoyed food and performances from the canine service.
After the tournament, a charity auction was held, hosted by Andrii Bednyakov. A total of 4 million hryvnias were raised for purchasing drones and the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers. Well-known figures such as Svyatoslav Vakarchuk and Viktor Didukh also participated in the event.
Hryhoriy Petrovych Kozlovskyy emphasized that organizing the charity tournament “Heroes Cup” is our shared responsibility and an opportunity to support our defenders. Football unites, brings positive emotions, and we were able to raise 4 million hryvnias, which will go toward purchasing drones and rehabilitating wounded soldiers. This demonstrates that together we can do a lot for our country.
This tournament, held for the second time, became a significant event for all participants, highlighting unity and support for Ukraine’s defenders.
