Chelsea Sale Under Threat: Billions for Ukraine May Not Reach.
The Crisis Surrounding the Sale of 'Chelsea' May Affect Charitable Contributions
According to inkorr.com: According to information from The Times, issues related to the sale agreement of the football club 'Chelsea' may result in war victims in Ukraine receiving only partial payments.
Roman Abramovich sold the club for £2.35 billion three years ago. However, a significant portion of these funds may go towards paying off debts, reducing the charitable contribution to approximately €1 billion, according to financial reports from 'Fordstam Ltd'.
The London government insists that all funds must be used solely for humanitarian purposes in Ukraine, while Abramovich expresses a desire for the fund to support 'all victims of the war', which may mean directing some of the funds to Russia as well.
It is also worth noting that in September, Roman Abramovich came under investigation due to suspicions of corruption and money laundering in Jersey.
The situation surrounding the sale of 'Chelsea' raises concerns among many, as it could significantly impact humanitarian assistance. The government aims to ensure that funds are directed only to support Ukraine, but Abramovich's intentions may create additional risks for the transfer of donor aid. Such circumstances highlight the importance of monitoring the distribution of funds in the context of international support for those affected by the war.
