Ukrainians evacuated from Lebanon due to escalation of the situation
On September 4, 2024, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine carried out another evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Lebanon, where the security situation has deteriorated.
According to an official statement from GUR MO, among those evacuated were 11 children and 14 women. They have all arrived on the territory of Poland, from where they are heading to Ukraine. The airline SkyUp assisted in the mission.
MFA spokesperson Georgy Tikhy announced that, in addition to Ukrainians, one Czech citizen was also evacuated. According to him, the evacuees are receiving all the necessary assistance.
This is already the second such operation in the last month. On August 3, 2024, 30 Ukrainian citizens were evacuated from Lebanon: 21 women and nine children.
The GUR MO and MFA continue to work on providing assistance to Ukrainians who are still in Lebanon. Citizens who require evacuation are recommended to contact the Embassy of Ukraine in the Lebanese Republic at (+961) 5921668 or by email at [email protected].
