Legendary VUZV held its first concert in 30 years: how it went.
According to ТСН: On Sunday, a significant event took place in Kyiv for the Ukrainian music scene — the cult band “Vхід у Змінному Взутті” (VUZV) held its first solo concert in 30 years.
A New Generation on Stage
This evening became a real cultural manifesto, where artists from three different eras gathered on one stage — from the legends of the 90s to contemporary representatives of music. The concert was opened by the band Sxymadi (Cxuma.dizzy), which set the energy that accompanied the audience until the very end. The audience was then impressed by Mark Kuzevalov, announcing the release of the updated line-up of VUZV in his traditional style.
The Evolution of Ukrainian Hip-Hop
The updated line-up of the band became a symbol of the development of Ukrainian hip-hop. The stage featured performances by: Oleksandr Stihanova, NAPILNIK, POSITIFF, UGO, Dj Bloodless, Dj Feeteel, Big B, Oleksandr Murenko (drums), Papa Andris (Papa Dance) and guitarist Serhii Pidkaura. Together, they created a unique musical combination, blending elements of old school, contemporary sound, and creative experiments.
Musical Mix and Collaborations
The concert program included legendary hits, premieres of new tracks, and unique remakes that left no one indifferent. The performance of VUZV was accompanied by a series of unexpected collaborations. For example, pregnant Lubov Yunak (LAVIKA) joined to perform the song “My Little One”. The legendary “Shtolnia” was performed together with the Zaval’ski sisters — the band The Alibi Sisters. Den Da Funk from the band “kAchevnyky” and the band Papa Dance also presented their energy.
The Importance of VUZV for the Music Scene
VUZV is the band that laid the foundations of Ukrainian rap in the 90s. Their songs “Shtolnia”, “Sirko”, “Karolin”, “Time Passes” and “Because that day when” became symbols of an entire era and rooted a new perception of Ukrainian music. The artists themselves commented on this legendary concert.
“This evening is not nostalgia, it is a continuation of history. We went on stage not to reminisce the past, but to communicate with people here and now. The way the audience sang every song showed: our music lives on,” shares the frontman of the band Oleksandr Stihanova.
“VUZV is the roots. It is what Ukrainian hip-hop started from. Standing on the same stage with the guys today is an honor and a thrill. We felt an absolute connection with the audience — the music did its job,” added back MC POSITIFF.
“For us, this is a return home. Three generations of listeners came to this hall — and they all knew why they were here. We create music together with them, and this concert became the point from which a new stage of VUZV begins,” emphasized NAPILNIK.
The concert of the VUZV band highlighted the importance of Ukrainian music for both veterans and new generations. The joint performance of classic hits alongside contemporary artists proved that Ukrainian hip-hop continues to evolve and attract new listeners. It was not just a concert, but a cultural phenomenon that united different generations and styles, confirming that the history of Ukrainian music is just beginning.
