Stuart Craig, legendary production designer of the Harry Potter film series, has passed away.
According to The Sun: The legendary set designer of 'Harry Potter', Stuart Craig, passed away at the age of 83.
The death of the outstanding artist was announced by the British Guild of Designers in a social media post.

According to his family, Stuart passed away peacefully on Sunday after 14 years of battling Parkinson's disease.
“Our beloved husband and father, who was deeply loved and respected, was known not only for his talent but also for his kindness, and we are touched by how many lives he touched,” the tribute reads.
Stuart created the visual style of all eight Harry Potter films and also worked on 'The English Patient', 'Gandhi', 'The Mission', 'The Elephant Man', and 'Dangerous Liaisons'.
Three-time Oscar winner, Craig was also nominated for eight awards, including four times for the Potter films.
He received Oscars for Best Art Direction for 'Gandhi', 'Dangerous Liaisons', and 'The English Patient'.
At BAFTA, his results were even more impressive — 16 nominations and three awards.
In announcing his death, the British Guild of Designers published a tribute from Neil Lamont, Craig's student.
“With great sadness, I announce that my friend and mentor, set designer Stuart Craig, passed away last night, September 7, 2025, at the age of 83 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.”
“I first worked with Stuart on 'The English Patient', and that trip to Tunisia to join him was one of the most important days of my career.”
“A true gentleman, with grace, kindness, and humility.”
Harry Potter series producer David Heyman also shared his memories:
“Stuart Craig was one of the greatest set designers in cinema history.”
“He had a fantastic ability to bring out the best in each of us.”
Stuart leaves behind his wife Patricia Stengrum and two children.

Stuart Craig left a notable mark in the history of cinema, particularly with his captivating work on the 'Harry Potter' universe. His visual solutions and abilities to create a unique world of magic will be remembered not only by viewers but also by colleagues who had the opportunity to work with him.
