Ban for referees in Turkey
The Turkish Football Federation has decided to ban 149 referees and their assistants after an investigation revealed that they had betting accounts. This investigation lasted five years and found that most officials were involved in gambling. It was established that 152 individuals were actively involved in betting, with 42 of them having bet on over 1,000 football matches."We cannot tolerate such behavior among those who are supposed to judge and uphold the fairness of the game," said a federation representative. This situation highlights the importance of ethics in football and the need for strict measures to maintain trust in officiating. The football community calls for serious actions to prevent similar cases in the future, as the fairness of the game must come first.
