Sex Pistols Cancel Tour Due to Guitarist's Injury: What Happened.
Cancellation of the Famous Rock Band's Tour
According to The Sun: The famous rock band 'Sex Pistols' has been forced to cancel their tour due to a serious injury to one of its members.
Redferns Henry RuggeriGuitarist Steve Jones, 70, suffered a wrist fracture as a result of an accident, which makes it impossible for him to play.
The band announced this distressing news in a statement to fans on Instagram.
“We have some upsetting news about our upcoming shows in North and South America. We'll let Steve explain what happened:
“I have good news and bad news. What do you want to hear first?”
“Okay, the bad news: I broke my wrist, so unfortunately, we won’t be able to do shows for a while.
“The good news: The surgeon said I can play guitar soon. Another piece of good news: I turn 70 tomorrow! God bless, and may the wrist heal.”
Fans around the world are actively commenting on the news, expressing their discontent over the cancellation of the performances and their desire to meet the band when the guitarist fully recovers. One commenter wrote: “I am very sad about the cancellation of the show in Brazil. I hope you recover soon.” Another added: “I hope everything will be fine, and you can recover quickly. I will see you in Philadelphia when you are back in shape.” A third wrote: “Oh no! I hope you recover quickly and start playing again.”
Steve, who was set to tour with Paul Cook, Glen Matlock, and frontman Frank Carter, was planning to kick off the American leg of the tour in Dallas on September 16.
Fans were hoping to hear the classic 1977 album performed, but the shows will have to be postponed until the 70-year-old rocker can return to the stage.
The band asked fans to keep an eye on updates from the concert venues, thanking them for their understanding and support.
The American tour dates were supposed to take place after a successful performance in the UK last September, where Frank Carter performed vocals after former frontman John Lydon refused to return.
Lydon, better known as Johnny Rotten, has been feuding with other band members for years.
In a conversation on the Rockonteurs podcast last year, Steve admitted that he had not spoken to the 69-year-old musician in over ten years.
“I haven't talked to him in years,” he said.
“The last time was in 2008. We did 30 shows across Europe, at festivals, in Japan, Australia, and finished at Hammersmith Apollo.
“Then we had one more show in the Basque Country, and that was it. I was worn out after that – too much, too old, not enough fun.”
Meanwhile, Lydon criticized the band for touring without him, calling their return a “karaoke tour,” and continues to perform with Public Image Ltd.
“No, I've made it clear for a long time that this won't happen. They are impossible, heart-wrenching, difficult to collaborate with, and have very bad personalities.”
“I think going out and doing this is extremely poor taste. If you don’t want me around, fine – bring your stand-up comedian to take my place.
“But leave my words out of this, because you clearly don’t understand them.”

The cancellation of the tour has been a great loss for fans who were looking forward to enjoying the lively performances of the legendary band. As comments show, fans are devoted to their idols and ready to support them in tough times. As the guitarist recovers, numerous supporters hope for a quick return of 'Sex Pistols' to the stage and new concerts that will surely bring joy and the energy that has always accompanied their shows.
