Mark Ronson's Memories of Michael Jackson

According to The Sun: Mark Ronson revealed that at 13 years old, he spent an evening with Michael Jackson, who later faced allegations of child abuse.

Redferns

The British music producer admitted that after the child abuse allegations against the pop star, he had to rethink his memories of that night.

In his new book, he notes that nothing suspicious happened, but that moment remains one of the strangest in his life.

Mark met the King of Pop through his friend Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and later attended an after-concert party in a hotel room that about 50 people attended.

Mark recalls:

“I think Michael was spending time at Sean's house, and the next night we went to the Bad Tour concert. Then Michael had a big after-party in his room.”

He adds:

“He was just obsessed with throwing these wet paper towels out the window – he would take big piles of toilet paper, soak them, and then throw them at parked cars. It's so weird to say that out loud.”

Mark wanted to get something from that meeting:

“I was already in love with being in the studio then. It was my obsession. I wanted to get a cool hook from Michael Jackson to use later.”

Unfortunately, he never got the melody.

However, Mark notes:

“Of course, given the allegations that came later, I rethought this event many times.”

He adds:

“I can't say it was a moment of my youth, but it was definitely one of the brightest experiences.”

Regarding his friendship with Sean, he shares:

“It was weird being friends with Sean, as he was quite charismatic and certainly carried with him the presence of his father.”

Michael Jackson vehemently denied all allegations against him.
