Lady Gaga Wins Four MTV VMA Awards: How the Artist Broke a Record

According to The Sun: Lady Gaga became the main star of the MTV VMAs, winning four awards out of 12 nominations and performing her new single 'The Dead Dance' on stage for the first time.

She now sits in third place for the most awards in the history of the ceremony with 22 trophies, surpassing Madonna.

Gaga is now only behind Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, who have 30 awards each.

While her show was the centerpiece of the evening, sources claim the superstar was not actually in the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, when she appeared on stage.

In fact, Gaga secretly recorded her performance at Madison Square Garden, where her Mayhem Ball tour was taking place. She filmed it four times to get the perfect take.

Gaga postponed her performance by 90 minutes to make it in time for the red carpet at the VMAs, after which she quickly returned to the stage.

Source claims: “Gaga insisted she wanted to be part of the VMAs, but canceling her show in MSG was not an option. She and her team worked with MTV for weeks to make this possible.”

“As soon as she received the Artist of the Year award, she quickly rushed backstage for photos, then headed back to MSG. It was madness, but if anyone can do it, it’s Gaga.”

“During her show, she performed with some of her Moonmen — she is very proud to still win awards.”

“It was truly a special moment, especially because her mom and dad were in the crowd.”

When she received the Artist of the Year award, Gaga addressed her fiancé Michael Polansky and said:

“To my partner in everything, Michael. Creating this year with you has been a beautiful, beautiful dream, and you've been my partner every step of the way.”

“This award I also dedicate to you, my love. I wish I could stay and see all these amazing performances, but I have to go back to Madison Square Garden.”

Gaga admitted she plans to perform until 2045 and believes New York has shaped her as an artist.

“I hope that in 20 years, when I write many more albums, I will still be here. I can’t express how happy I am that this place is where my youth was because it shaped me.”

“I think about what my music would be like if I hadn't grown up here. When you're from New York, your roots intertwine in your veins. You have an understanding of life and community, it's very strong. It's a feeling. I can't describe it.”

Gaga is now at the peak of her popularity, and preparations for her four solo concerts at the O2 Arena in London have already begun.

Tickets for the concerts, including two additional ones in Manchester, sold out in seconds.

If her performance in New York is any hint, British fans can expect an incredible show.

Yungblud held a special tribute to Ozzy Osbourne after his death in July.

The punk rocker performed with Aerosmith legends Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, executing a medley of hits by the Black Sabbath singer, such as 'Crazy Train', 'Changes', and 'Mama, I’m Coming Home'.

On the red carpet, Yungblud shared that he wears a cross Ozzy gifted him as a sign of respect, adding:

“This is a big moment honoring someone you love.”

Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, also hinted at his upcoming plans:

“A new project is coming in the next two weeks… I haven’t said this yet.”

When cameras switched to Tyler's impressive guitar solo, Yungblud turned to the audience and drank alcohol, watching the emotional montage of the late rock legend.

In recent years, Yungblud has become close with Ozzy and his family, performing at the Black Sabbath shows in Birmingham this summer.

Yungblud admitted that he learned of Ozzy's death from the legendary metal musician's son, Jack Osbourne:

“When you know someone you love, and they go... it's hard.”

He also added that there was so much love at the funeral that this family is real.

MARIAH CAREY returned to the VMAs stage for the first time in two decades to receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a medley of her hits.

According to reports, Mariah arrived by private jet decorated with white roses and cashmere blankets.

After a few days of rest in her luxury penthouse in Tribeca, Mariah and her team spent nearly all of Sunday preparing her for the red carpet.

MTV bosses had to be on standby due to the dramatic diva, but everything went smoothly, although she kept her distance from most other stars.

Mariah decided to avoid the red carpet and quickly entered through the back door. The award was presented to her by Ariana Grande, to which Mariah responded:

“I love you. I am so grateful to you, and I am endlessly proud of everything you have achieved, girl.”

This was the first award that 'We Belong Together' received in all these years.
