According to The Sun: The story of Kanye West's downfall, tied to his mental health, has shocked many, only through emotional social media posts, lawsuits, and news headlines.

Now, as details about his mental state and conscious decisions leading to billion-dollar losses come to light, it is clear that the situation is even more tragic than his supporters could have imagined.

Kanye is many things. He is a talent of a generation, a free thinker, a man and a father, and also a person who can be funny and, presumably, remains very wealthy.

However, he is also a polarizing figure: an unpredictable and often unstable 48-year-old man who has recently caused pain to those around him. It is true that those who suffer often inflict suffering on others.

Documentary About the Downfall

This week I watched the new documentary 'In Whose Name?', which will soon be released in theaters in the USA.

This striking film lifts the veil on Kanye's most controversial years, when he seemed to be on a mission of self-destruction.

This is not a produced work with professional footage, but raw material shot on an iPhone by a man named Nico Ballesteros, who first entered Kanye's inner circle six years ago.

He captured over 3000 hours of Kanye's life, interacting with the rich and famous, traveling with a star who became increasingly fearful and paranoid each year.

For those who have covered Kanye's activities for decades, watching this film is stressful as it shows how the seeds of his decline and divorce were sown long before many of his devoted fans realized it.

Worrisome Moments

There is a scene in the film where Kanye sits in the back seat of a car with his oldest daughter North, who is now 12, during a touching father-daughter moment.

Many celebrities appear, supporting Kanye in his fame, from Drake to Lady Gaga. Elon Musk was even invited to give him personal life advice.

“You control the water in a fishing aquarium. It’s yours,' - he says. 'But it’s very easy to mess it all up,” - Kanye is warned by Pharrell Williams in 2018.

The situation begins to worsen. That same year Kim tries to talk to her husband about his statements that they would move to Chicago to the house of his late mother.

“We can talk about this later,” - she says, but Kanye interrupts, admitting that he hasn't taken medication for five months.

Kim approaches him and exclaims: “You are yelling at me like I’m a dog,” - or something to that effect.

Impact on Family

The impact on his family becomes clear. During one trip, Kim tries to calm him down.

At one moment he asks that no one tells him what to do.

In 2018 Kanye shouts at his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, claiming that her family has stripped him of his dignity, which appears to be an emotionally difficult episode.

“You took my dignity and made me feel like trash,” - he shouts.

The film includes parts where he continues to criticize his family and blame them for the negative consequences affecting his life, making viewers feel uncomfortable.

Path to Recovery

Over the years, despite ups and downs, Kanye remains in a precarious situation.

He still hasn’t gotten what he wanted, and his life and career continue to raise concerns. His relationship with his second wife, Bianca Censori, has not become easier either.

In one interview during the filming of the movie, he says:

“They still refuse to call me a billionaire because they want my story to be about mental health.”

This story, unfortunately, is about mental health. I hope that viewers will take lessons from the film and understand that they should not be ashamed to seek help before it’s too late.
