Thunderstorms and gusts expected in Ukraine on August 17: where it will be dangerous.

Forecasters predict the weather for Sunday, August 17. Cloudy weather with clarifications is expected, and rain, thunderstorms, and gusts are possible in some areas. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

In the northern and central regions, in Transcarpathia, Prykarpattia, and in Khmelnytskyi region, rain with thunderstorms is expected. Hail and gusts may occur in some places. In other regions, no precipitation is expected. The wind will blow from the southwest at a speed of 5–10 m/s, but in the western and northern regions, it will shift to the northwest direction during the day. Nights will be cool with a temperature of +14...+19 °C, and during the day, the air will warm up to +23...+32 °C.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, it will be cloudy with short-term rains, thunderstorms, and gusts. The temperature at night will be +14...+19 °C, and during the day +17...+28 °C.

Forecaster Nataliya Didenko predicts that on August 17, rain is expected in the west and north, and the temperature will drop to +22...+26 °C. On the other hand, in the south, east, and central regions, it will be sunny and hot — the air will warm up to +30...+35 °C. In Kyiv, precipitation is unlikely, and here the temperature will remain at +25...+27 °C.

In some regions of the country, thunderstorms are possible due to the influence of atmospheric fronts from southwestern Europe. It should be reminded that the heat in some areas of Ukraine can reach +35 °C over the weekend.
