Jessie J on her battle with cancer: the singer has been scheduled for a second surgery.
Jessie J's experience in the fight against breast cancer
According to The Sun: Jessie J shared her struggles as she continues treatment for breast cancer in the hospital.
The 37-year-old singer expressed that it is hard for her to be in the UK and needs a break from 'antisocial' London. She is currently preparing for another surgery that will take place in the coming weeks after a mastectomy performed in June.
Comments from Jessie J emerged during her performance on the Strictly show, where she performed a new song from her upcoming album. The singer longs to return to Los Angeles as she is tired of 'antisocial' London during her cancer treatment.
She had to postpone her tour in October following the news of needing another surgery.
Jessie, who returned to television with a performance on the Strictly show, shared with fans that she misses her 'community' in Los Angeles and expressed hope for a return before her next surgery.
In her Instagram story, she noted:
“I forgot how antisocial London is, I’ve been back here for 10 months, and it’s really a very remote and isolated place for social life support.”
“People, I miss LA and my community there. Maybe I’ll just book a flight and go before the surgery. I need a little break.”
These remarks came after her emotional return to television with a performance of the song Living My Best Life from her upcoming album Don't Tease Me with a Good Time, which will be released later this year.
The singer underwent a mastectomy after announcing her early-stage diagnosis via social media this year.
In a video posted on Instagram, she said:
“I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Cancer in any form is horrible, but I’m holding on to the word 'early'. It’s a very dramatic way to get new boobs. I will go for treatment after the Summertime Ball and come back with new boobs and new music.”
However, Jessie found herself back in the hospital due to suspected pneumonia just weeks after the procedure. In August, the singer stated that she needs to undergo another surgery by the end of the year, which forced her to postpone tour dates for 2025.
“Unfortunately, I need to have a second surgery – nothing serious, but it needs to be done by the end of this year,” Jessie said.
“It happens in the middle of the planned tour. I’m really sorry, I feel disappointment and sadness, but I need to be healthy.”
Concert dates in the UK and Europe scheduled for October 2025 have been moved to April 2026 to give her time to recover after surgery, while the planned dates in the US have been canceled altogether.
Despite recent health and career challenges, Jessie continues to work and plans to release her sixth studio album Don't Tease Me With A Good Time on November 28.
This situation demonstrates that Jessie J remains strong and determined despite the trials that come her way. The singer is trying to find positive moments in her life and work on new music, giving her hope for the future. Her resilience and commitment to her art inspire her fans during this challenging time.
