Reasons for weight loss

Not long ago, her tests showed low platelet levels in her blood, which could be the reason for her rapid weight loss. She shared: “I had my blood tested, and I have very, very low platelets, thought it was an (low) iron level, but it’s not. And that might be why I got skinny.”

Katie also mentioned her past battle with a rare form of cancer. In 2002, when she was pregnant with her son Harvey, she was diagnosed with soft tissue cancer on her finger, known as leiomyosarcoma.

She recounted: “

When I was pregnant with Harvey, I got cancer, it was leiomyosarcoma. I felt pain in my finger, thought I'd hit it, but then it turned out to be a tumor. I underwent many check-ups for six years until I was clear.

Now Katie is experiencing pain in that same finger again. She noted: “A week ago, I thought I might have hit it because I feel pain when I press, but there’s no tumor. Sorry, I’m going for an x-ray, hope it’s not the same.”
