Katie's New Project
After her recent success in music, the 47-year-old star shared a snippet of a new track she is working on with producer Rick Live on Snapchat.
In an interview with The Sun, Rick, who first met Katie in 2010, said her recent success came as a pleasant surprise to him.
“It was completely unexpected. My phone started ringing off the hook, and I received about 60 missed calls and a bunch of text messages from people saying: ‘you’re back in the charts again.’”
“It’s crazy. Katie is absolutely thrilled, we are both excited.”
He also revealed the title of Katie's new song - 'Broken' - and explained why it suits her so well.
“For her, it’s about how to be broken, but gradually getting back on her feet.”
Rick noted that this is especially relevant to her situation: “She says that it’s very close to her, as every time something goes wrong - whether she breaks a leg, or relationships go south - she always says: ‘Don’t worry, I’ll piece myself back together, everything will be fine.’”
Musical Plans
There are also talks about Katie collaborating with her friend and X Factor winner Sam Bailey.
Katie expressed a desire to work with another former X Factor contestant, Craig Colton.
