Whale Appeared During the Surfing Olympics Semifinal and Impressed the Spectators (video).

An enormous whale appeared in the sight of the spectators of the Olympic Games in Tahiti during the surfing competition. Whales usually gather near the islands during the mating season, birthing, and migration.
The athletes were safe because the whale surfaced at a safe distance from them. The winner of the shortboard competition was American Caroline Marks, with Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb taking second place, and Frenchwoman Joanne Defay winning the bronze. The Summer Olympic Games in Paris will last until August 11.
Earlier, the culprit behind the damage to the fiber-optic cables at the Olympic fan zone was identified. Such damage caused interruptions in the broadcast on the big screen. The police began an investigation and did not rule out prosecuting a "criminal group." After reviewing surveillance footage, the police determined that the blame for the damage lay with a marten.
Ukraine is represented by twelve athletes in five sports at the 2024 Olympic Games: athletics, canoeing and kayaking, wrestling, diving, and boxing. Today, the final of the Olympic boxing tournament will take place, where Oleksandr Khizhniak will compete for the gold medal. He will face Kazakh boxer Nurbek Oralbay in the weight category up to 80 kg.
