Ukrainian basketball player Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk was granted a guaranteed contract for the upcoming season by the Utah Jazz. This news was confirmed by renowned insider Michael Scotto. Previously, the contract was non-guaranteed, but now the player has a guaranteed amount of 3.68 million dollars.
Mykhailiuk has been playing for the Utah Jazz for the second consecutive season after signing a four-year contract last summer. The club had until June 30 to choose between the Ukrainian player and free agent Johnny Juzang. It was decided to keep Mykhailiuk on the team. Last season, he participated in 38 games, with 13 starting, showing average statistics of 8.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. This will be the eighth season in the NBA for the Ukrainian since the 2018 draft.
The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation decided to continue the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian clubs and national teams from participating in tournaments. The decision will be continued depending on the situation and will be made in Bahrain.
