Meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and France

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron. During the lengthy discussion, the leaders talked about security guarantees for Ukraine and the global situation in Europe.

According to Zelenskyy, both presidents share a common vision regarding the need for reliable and strong security guarantees. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that any decisions made without such guarantees, including a fragile ceasefire, could become 'another deception by Russia and a prelude to a new Russian war against Ukraine or other European countries.'

Macron also informed Zelenskyy about his talks with other leaders, not only European ones. The presidents agreed to maintain constant contact to address important issues.

Zelenskyy stressed that a reliable and lasting peace is possible only under the condition of strong security guarantees.
