Leona Lewis has received a residency show in Las Vegas: Inspired by Adele and supported by Simon Cowell.
Leona Lewis will begin her residency in Las Vegas
According to The Sun: Singer Leona Lewis is preparing for her biggest performance since winning The X Factor — she will open a new residency in Las Vegas.
It has been nearly two decades since she triumphed on the talent show, and that time has allowed her to sell 40 million records.
Alex Loucas GettyLeona's performances will take place at Voltaire in The Venetian, which was opened by Kylie Minogue in 2023 and has already hosted Christina Aguilera and Jason Derulo.
In an exclusive interview from her home in the U.S., Leona admitted she plans to follow in Adele's footsteps, speaking about her life during intimate shows complemented by performances of her hits.
Leona said: 'I feel proud and privileged to be walking in the footsteps of Elton John and Adele and to have a show in Las Vegas.'
The singer shared her impressions of Adele's openness during her concerts, noting that it makes her performances special. According to Leona, 'It's about lifting the curtain and finding out who the artist really is and why we sing these songs.'
Family support
Leona, along with her loved ones, plans to move to Las Vegas during her residency. She stressed that this decision is primarily for family reasons.
'We are moving for family, as my mom and dad will come to help with my daughter Coco,'
she said. Leona also mentioned that her husband often participates in producing shows in the city, and they want to be part of the local community.
Reflecting on her journey in music, she stated: 'This is not just a show. This is me sharing what I have been through, why I wrote certain songs.'
Leona says that Simon Cowell still 'supports her' and helps with her career.
She jokingly added that she looks as if time has stopped for her since her audition on ITV in 2006.
