Melovin held another gay manifesto. The singer addressed his beloved from the stage (video).
At the National Palace 'Ukraine', a tribute show 'The Best Songs of Mykola Mozgovyi' took place. Artists performed hits by the famous singer and composer, who passed away in 2010. One of the concert participants, singer Melovin, particularly stood out with his performance of the song 'Crystal Burns' (also known as 'Rose-Ruzha') and received loud applause.
Melovin performed this hit live, accompanying himself on the piano.
Interestingly, Melovin performed 'Crystal Burns' in its original version, which the authors created for female performers. The author of the lyrics, poet Viktor Gerasimov, wrote the verses from a woman's perspective. The words of the song were addressed to a beloved partner:
At the Time of farewell, my belovedTake the rose-ruzha,A star burns in the skyWith the last flame-fire.
Crystal burns through the dreams of the night,Like a sunny flourish,And the heart does not want to believeIn your farewell.
This performance of the song became famous thanks to People's Artist Olga Makarenko.
Interestingly, when men sang this song, they replaced the words 'at the time of farewell, my beloved' with 'at the time of parting farewell'. Mozgovyi himself used this version of the song. But Melovin became the first performer who did not change the lyrics and addressed his beloved.
Melovin's performance was well received by the audience.
Let us remind you that Melovin came out as bisexual on the stage of the Atlas Weekend festival in 2021. This positively impacted his mental state and made him happier.
Dozens of Ukrainian artists also performed at the concert, accompanied by the Honored Academic Orchestra of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
