The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained the procedure for exchanging a driver's license issued for the first time.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reminds about the exchange of a driver's license
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine remembers the need to exchange a driver's license, which is issued for the first time. These licenses are issued for two years and then need to be exchanged.
The exchange can be done in three ways:
- Personal visit to any MIA service center
- Online through the Driver's Cabinet
- Online through the Diya application
For a personal visit to the MIA service center, you need to have:
- Passport with a registration mark
- A copy of the taxpayer's registration card number
- The driver's license to be exchanged
During martial law, no medical certificate is required.
For online exchange, you need to log in to the Driver's Cabinet or Diya, select the exchange service, specify the reason and type of license (digital or plastic), as well as the method of receipt.
Important: the exchange is not possible if the driver has committed more than two traffic violations. In such a case, you need to retake the exams. Also, if the driver has lost their driving license, they need to undergo retraining at a driving school and pass the exams.
You can get a consultation by phone (044) 290-19-88 or on the official pages of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on social networks.
