According to The Sun: When Gianni Versace was shot in 1997 on the doorstep of his home, celebrities gathered to pay their respects – among them was Princess Diana.

At his memorial, beside his sister Donatella, Allegra Beck, the 11-year-old niece of the Italian designer, whom Versace called his 'little princess', was crying.

On the night Gianni died, Allegra suddenly became one of the richest and most influential figures in the fashion world, inheriting 50% of his business on her 18th birthday, which was worth an astronomical $450 million.

But this fate was marked by tragic circumstances. The schoolgirl, whose father is American Paul Beck, required round-the-clock security, and her family hired the best in the field.

Mary Beth Yanke, a former U.S. Secret Service agent who protected President Bush's grandchildren, took on the challenging task of safeguarding Allegra. She had to prohibit the photographing of the girl to reduce risks.

Any information about her whereabouts could increase the likelihood of kidnapping.

“Versace was concerned that whoever killed Gianni might come back,” says Mary Beth, recalling her intriguing career.

After Gianni's murder, a Swiss judge issued arrest warrants for seven Israeli guards suspected of attempting to kidnap 12-year-old Athina Onassis Roussel.

Athina, as the sole heiress to the Onassis billions, was the richest child in the world at that time.

As Versace's heiress, Allegra was considered a particularly valuable asset.

“I tried to avoid working with Hollywood because I wasn't interested in being a glorified nanny. My goal was to reduce risk,” added Mary Beth.

Allegra first came under the camera's scrutiny at her uncle's memorial, remaining extremely concerned about the threat of kidnapping.

Tragedy and Media Influence

Traveling with the Versace family opened many new doors for Allegra. However, despite her luxurious life, she faced anorexia, leading to dangerous weight loss.

“Gianni was killed in July, and Allegra stopped eating in September,” Donatella Versace confessed.

Allegra also underwent difficult times when her parents were preoccupied with their struggles, while Mary Beth established a close relationship with her in an attempt to protect the girl.

A Shadowy Lifestyle

Today, at 39, Allegra reportedly leads a reclusive lifestyle at the family estate in Milan.

She hates the attention so much that she even secured the removal of her scenes from the television drama about Gianni Versace's murder – 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story'.

“I can talk to people, but I never slept with anyone to achieve a goal,” said Mary Beth.

The book 'The Bodyguard: A Woman's Journey from the Secret Service to VIP Protection', written by Dr. Mary Beth Yanke, is now available for purchase on Amazon.

Allegra Beck's life shows how quickly one's destiny can change. From an obscure girl to the heiress of a great fashion empire, her journey has become a subject of media attention. However, behind all the glamorous facade lie the challenges and difficulties she faced. Family and security support helped her cope with the dangers, but Allegra primarily focused on her well-being and safety.
