In Vinnytsia, a convict organized an illegal business in prison.
The convict who sold the drug methadone has been charged
Law enforcement officers reported suspicion against a person who is in custody and sold the drug methadone in the correctional facility of Vinnytsia region. This became known from a message from the Vinnytsia regional prosecutor's office.
The convict, who is serving a sentence for robbery, is suspected of illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of the drug in the penitentiary institution. He is accused of a group crime, caused by a probable conspiracy with other individuals.
According to investigations, the 38-year-old convict made deals with his associates who are at large to send the drug via postal shipments to the correctional colony. Subsequently, he sold the drug among other individuals serving their sentences.
For these crimes, the man faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
A judge from Vinnytsia has been suspended for biased decisions
It was reported that a judge from Vinnytsia made a decision to suspend him from judicial activity due to systematic acceptance of biased decisions in favor of an acquaintance. This was reported to the Vinnytsia regional prosecutor's office.
Additionally, it was found that the head of a limited liability company engaged in the retail sale of food products, alcohol, and tobacco products had attempted for two years to underreport and evade corporate income tax. This caused a non-payment to the budget of over 4.5 million hryvnias.
Earlier, the Vinnytsia city court made a decision to convict three men who committed a robbery at a jewelry store for 3.5 million hryvnias and opened fire on a security guard. This was reported by the Vinnytsia regional prosecutor's office.
