NBU forecasted what to expect from gas and heating tariffs in 2025.
The National Bank of Ukraine forecasts that in 2025, gas, heating, and hot water supply tariffs will remain unchanged.
This is reported by EP, referring to the new inflation report of the NBU.
However, starting from 2026, a gradual adjustment of tariffs to economically justified levels is expected due to the complex situation in the energy sector.
The report notes that uncertainty about the timing and scale of tariff adjustments, especially for energy carriers, is a risk for inflation forecasts.
Rapid price increases for energy carriers or other utilities may increase inflationary pressure and require additional subsidies for the population.
It is also indicated that a prolonged delay in decision-making regarding tariff hikes will contribute to lowering the inflation level, but it may lead to the growth of quasi-fiscal imbalances and deterioration of the financial state of state energy companies.
Also, a reminder: how to apply for a utility subsidy under a simplified procedure.
